The Interoperability Reference Architecture v1.0 document is now in its final form, the document is available from the link below. The document has been re-shaped in order to centre on the HISO 10040 series HIE Architecture Building Blocks, which the RA incorporates and expands upon. The supporting material, which made up a large part of our earlier contributions, has been moved to a new appendices section. This is not designed to diminish the importance of this material but to improve document structure. In addition, using HL7's EHR-S functional model as a reference, we've created scope statements for two new sets of building blocks. If the first building blocks were bronze level, then these new ones represent silver and gold levels of interoperability. At the moment these sections are little more than placeholders, but they give a useful sense of how the RA will grow and what to expect in version 2.0.
