RESEARCH AND ENTERPRISE

The Research and Enterprise Office facilitates the acquisition and management of research funding, promotes research discoveries, and identifies and protects commercially viable intellectual property developed in the University. Research and Enterprise Office staff are dedicated to supporting a wide range of research needs. They work with University staff, industry clients and funding agencies. Working in this multi-stakeholder environment is complex and challenging, and we are looking for expertise, energy and dedication.

Applications are invited for the position of Research Advisor, to work closely with staff across the University, particularly Health Sciences. The primary roles and responsibilities of the Research Advisor will be to:
- Support staff in accessing research funds and developing quality research proposals.
- Assist in the administration of research contracts.
- Work with staff to facilitate collaborative research activity.

Candidates for this position should have a postgraduate research degree, and be familiar with the academic research environment. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in life and/or biomedical sciences. The position is suited to those who have empathy for the academic culture, analytical skills, and highly developed oral and written communication skills.

Applications are called for a fixed term (6 months) full-time position within the Biomedical Research Unit – Rodent Breeding Facility - of the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research for immediate start.

The position is suited to individuals who have a strong interest in the breeding and care of mice. Although practical experience and qualifications (BSc) are desirable they are not essential as training will be given in all facets of the position. A reliable person with initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision is required for this position. The successful applicant must be prepared to work approximately three hours overtime on occasional weekends. The base salary will be in the region of $33,000-$37,000 per annum with overtime paid for weekend work
